I had the joy of being with a solid, missional, Acts 29 church this weekend called Coram Deo. Though I preached on Jesus’ Cleansing of the Temple, I probably got the better end of the stick. Coram Deo is three years into church planting in Omaha, Nebraska. Bob Thune is the lead pastor and Will Walker is the pastor of Spiritual Formation (Check out Will’s book, Kingdom of Couches). Here are three of the things I learned from Coram Deo:

  1. Use Survey Monkey to monitor missional community health.
  2. Develop a Missional Community Leader Forum that requires leaders to post a weekly MC recap, as well as fostering for ongoing training and interaction for leaders.
  3. Regularly announce why we don’t really do announcements on Sunday morning.
